Thin Horizontal or Vertical Line on Screen

There are few possible reasons to the thin colored lines on your display.

Bad VGA Cable:

The line may caused by the traces going bad in the VGA cable going from mother board of your PC to LCD/LED Monitor. Try changing your VGA cable with new one.

I recommend you to test it with any of your friend's VGA cable before going for new one. If the problem is fixed by changing the cable then you can buy it from local computer peripherals shop or online.

Bad Communication Bus:

The line is caused by the traces going bad on communication bus which connects main board of your PC monitor and LCD/LED panel. This can be fixed by replacing the communication bus.

But, this is tricky to replace the bus, you need a assist from any techie guy, who is well known about the computer hardware and troubleshooting.

Or, you can get it done by any service center, that provide display solutions.

Graphic Card Failure:

The line may be caused by the failure of graphic card. The graphic card may be AGP or PCI based on your motherboard. This issue can be fixed by replacing the graphic card.

You should be very careful while choosing your Graphic Card, you should select AGP or PCI Express card which is compatible with your mother board.
